Poetry by Ritual Abuse SurvivorsRitual Abuse,
Ritual Crime
and Healing
I have heard the crying in the night
and traced with fevered fingertips
the shadows on the walls.
I have felt the coldness of the floor
and laid my cheek against it
as I tried to stay alive.
I have searched for answers in my soul
and prayed to find a welcoming
in places yet unknown.
I have heard the crying in the night
and hoped for reassurance
that the weeping was not mine.
